We did it, Joe

Finally got the blog up & running lol

I know this is like, four months overdue and I said I'd post when I got here BUT I was ded, y'all.

Call it burnout, an adjustment period for my new normal, whatever-- but I did NOT have the capacity to formulate cohesive thoughts and be steady with getting shit out. When I got to India, the first objective (as any NRI knows lol) was boring admin stuff --- doctors, dentists, paperwork, getting contacts, getting my local SIM & cell etc.

I def traveled a bunch as seen in my IG stories but my brain also shut tf down. I read an absurd amount of books in those first few months (enough that my therapist would be straight up horrified fr) and just vegged when we weren't actively traveling. Those first trips took a lot out of me bc not only did I plan the whole thing, traveling with my mom is like (what I assume) traveling with a kid is like. I planned everything, figured out where we were going, staying, doing, eating— all of it. I love her and she's dope and down to do whatev but it's also a really weird adjustment bc I've basically been living alone, or at least out of my parent's house, since I went off to college, and now I’m sharing a one bedroom with her.

Anyway that sums up my excuses and reasons that this is going live in my fourth month here lol. While I didn't write, I def kept track of misc things so that I could write things bc I knew/hoped I eventually would. My notes & voice memo apps are like the most ADHD, cluttered mess of thoughts, reviews, and one-liners that I'll try to cobble legible posts from. That also means my posts aren't going to be chronological but you'll get the deets of who, what, where, and most importantly, what we ate.

xoxo
